For over 10 years Acuity has worked hard to provide entrepreneurs across the country with stellar accounting services. We’ve felt that this was an essential part of running a successful business, but we also understood that it’s not a function that every business, particularly nonprofits, can afford. We’ve always had great admiration for those entrepreneurs with higher purpose missions to serve those who were less fortunate or to make the world a better place. Despite the lack of resources some of these nonprofit entrepreneurs faced, Acuity has always tried to help them with the skills and resources that we were given.
We’re excited to introduce our charitable giving effort, AcuityCares! We commend organizations that are doing amazing things and making a tremendous impact within their communities. With the right resources, they can have an everlasting effect on the communities that they serve.
Through AcuityCares we will provide our services free of charge to nonprofits whose missions resonate with us.
While we’ve worked with numerous charities throughout our history, we wanted to highlight a few that we’ve worked with most recently.
48in48

48in48 is a 501c3 social entrepreneurship organization that connects marketing and technology professionals with local nonprofits. The organization’s goal is to hold 48 of these events worldwide each year, which would positively impact over 2,300 nonprofits. Over the span of 48 hours, 48in48 puts on a hackathon to provide 48 nonprofits with professional websites and digital materials. Our CEO Kenji Kuramoto was so impressed by their efforts that he extended the opportunity to work with them. For over a year we had the privilege of providing the nonprofit with free bookkeeping services as well as sponsoring breakfast for their 2017 and 2018 hackathon.
New Story

After making that connection with 48in48, we saw that there was a great opportunity for Acuity to do more by giving back and in 2018 we began working with New Story, a nonprofit focused on ending global homelessness by building sustainable communities in impoverished areas. They’ve built over 2000 homes around the world. We’ve had the pleasure of providing them with bookkeeping, accounting, and CFO services.
Charlotte Veteran Startup Showcase

The Charlotte Veteran Showcase brings together over 100 veterans, founders, entrepreneurs, and investors and gives them the chance to secure funding, network, and collaborate. Veteran-owned businesses and startups have the opportunity to present their companies and ideas in hopes of winning $50,000 in funding. In 2017 and 2018, we were pleased to sponsor the event by providing our services to the finalists and contributing to the grand prize.
We’re excited to continue working with and supporting such amazing companies and supporting as they champion for their causes. Moving forward we aim to be intentional in everything that we do and continue to make an informed decision when it comes to selecting companies that we want to gift our services. If you believe that your nonprofit would be a good fit for AcuityCares, please feel free to email us detailing what you do and how we could benefit you.
